1. Know your audience.
Your potential customers have wishes, desires, and needs. How can you solve their problems or help them reach their dreams or brighten their day?
2. Think outside the blog.
Thing big, and think about unique formats. Make your content interactive or multi dimensional. There’s a new social network, app, or technology out there every day. Embrace it.
3. Do your research.
What’s already been done and how will your content be different? Search for the top-ranked and most highly-shared content that’s already out there. Then find the gap and fill it.
4. Set a goal and a purpose for each piece of content.
A goal could be a click or a conversion. A purpose could be to educate or inspire. Each piece of content needs a reason behind why it exists and a result that you’re hoping to achieve.
5. Define a strategy for sharing.
If you build it, they will not come. But if you tweet it, they might. Don’t just wing it when it comes to broadcasting a new content piece. You can get creative during the promotion of it too.
